Zakynthos has impressive beaches. At the peninsula of Vasilikos the most outstanding beaches are the beach in Argassi, Kaminia, Sekania and Daphne, sandy beaches surrounded by cedar trees, Porto Zoro, Banana or Ionio, Agios Nikolaos, the most remote and remarkable beach in the area, the beach Porto Roma , which took her name by the political Alexander Roma and the sand of Gerakas, with blue and shallow waters.

In Laganas Bay, there is the vast beach of Laganas with the sand dunes and the shallow water, one of the busiest of the island, while in the bay there are three uninhabited islands with deserted beaches, the islet Peluso, Agios Sostis, where the access is posiible by the bridge built there, and Marathonissi, which is reached by boat.On the west side, one encounters the deserted beach Roxa, the bay of Steniti and the bay of Porto-Vromi, from where boats make trips to the nearby 'Shipwreck', which is described in detail in the corresponding section.
