Zakynthos has impressive beaches. At the peninsula of Vasilikos, the most outstanding beaches are the beach in Argassi, Kaminia, Sekania and Daphne, sandy beaches surrounded by cedar trees, Porto Zoro, Banana or Ionio, Agios Nikolaos, the most remote and remarkable beach in the area, the beach Porto Roma, which was named after the politician Alexander Roma and the sandy beach of Gerakas, with deep blue and shallow waters.

In Laganas Bay, there is the vast beach of Laganas with the sand dunes and the shallow water, one of the busiest of the island. In the bay, there are also three uninhabited islands with deserted beaches, the islet Peluso, Agios Sostis, where the access is possible through a bridge, and Marathonissi, which is accessible by boat.
